Building on the success of the previous meeting in Prague, FELASA is again organising another full Technicians’ Day in Marseille on Wednesday 15th June 2022. Following the theme of the meeting, the day will be focusing on sharing experiences and latest innovations in laboratory animal science and technology. This day is an ideal opportunity to bring together animal care staff and technologists, so that they may benefit from mutual experiences and discussions, and will help to advance their knowledge, care and welfare of laboratory animals in the workplace. This day of celebration and learning recognises the key roles and pressures that laboratory animal technicians work under and their essential contributions as members of the research team.

This is the ultimate CPD event for animal technologists during FELASA 2022. Delivering seminars across four specialist areas, Technicians’ Day provides practical and relevant CPD content in each of the fifteen lectures on offer. Each of the expert speakers brings their professional knowledge, innovation and passion to the day.

Sessions include:

  • Culture of care in practice
  • Reducing rodent aggression and understanding what mice are telling you
  • Come breed with us – GA colony management skills, application of the 3Rs and learning a post-mortem protocol to help understand the causes of neonatal mortality
  • Talk, Talk and talk some more! A diverse selection of speakers and topics aimed to encourage animal technicians to communicate about the important work they perform, enabling you to support your and your colleague’s well-being.

Technicians’ day 2022 has been devised specifically be of interest to animal technologists, but anyone who is interested in laboratory animal science and welfare, whether from a clinical, preclinical, translational, welfare, academic, pharma or even regulatory, perspective, would find topics interesting and useful.

The topics being discussed are also important for Persons responsible for overseeing the welfare and care of animals (ICARE/NACWOs), Animal Welfare Body members, laboratory animal vets, journal editors, regulators and animal welfare groups (e.g., RSPCA, FRAME).

Join our exciting Technicians’ Day at FELASA for topical, practical and relevant information that offers something for everyone working in laboratory animal science and technology.

You may even discover the meaning of life, the universe and everything!
